Short Bio: ANNE UNDELAND is a member of the Dramatists Guild, Howl Playwrights, and Rooted Writers. Productions and workshops of full-length plays include Lady Randy (WAM Theatre at Shakespeare & Company, 2019), Wharton Between the Sheets (Great Barrington Public Theater, 2021 {four Berkshire Theater Critics Assoc noms incl best new play}, Boston’s Gloucester Stage, 2022, Salmagundi Club, NYC 2023, semifinalist at LA’s The Road Theater 2024 New Play Festival, and Vermont’s Middlebury Acting Company, 2025). Her short work has been presented around the world (incl. Road Theater, Nevada Arts Council, SpeakEasy, Windhover, Oldcastle, Short and Sweet) with her short, The Kiss winning best play at the Ten Minute Festival at the West Side Y in NYC and her audio piece, Adeline’s Gambol a finalist for the Miller Audio Award at the Missouri Review. She has a BA in Medieval Studies from Wesleyan University, works for the sculptor George Rickey, and is currently at work on a commission from Great Barrington Public Theater for a full-length play: Madame Mozart, the Lacrimosa, slated for production at GBPT in July of 2025. https://www.anneundeland.com/

Long Bio: ANNE UNDELAND is a member of the Dramatists Guild, Howl Playwrights, Rooted Writers, and Berkshire Voices. Her short work has been presented nationally and internationally (including The Road Theater, Nevada Arts Council, SpeakEasy, Windhover, Oldcastle, Short and Sweet), with The Kiss winning Best Play at the Writer’s Voice Ten-Minute Play Festival at the West Side Y in New York City. Her audio piece Adeline’s Gambol was a finalist for the Miller Audio Award at The Missouri Review; her monologue King of the Dink was a finalist at Spellbinder Literary Quarterly; and her one-act solo show My Louisa was a semifinalist for the Garry Marshall Theatre New Works Festival in Los Angeles.

Productions and workshops of Anne’s full-length plays include Lady Randy (WAM Theatre at Shakespeare & Company, 2019) and Wharton Between the Sheets, which premiered at Great Barrington Public Theater in 2021 and received four Berkshire Theatre Critics Association nominations. Subsequent productions and workshops of Wharton Between the Sheets include Gloucester Stage (Boston, 2022), the Salmagundi Club (NYC, 2023), a semifinalist placement at The Road Theatre’s 2024 New Play Festival in Los Angeles, and a production at Middlebury Acting Company in Vermont (2025).

Her most recent play, Madame Mozart, the Lacrimosa, was commissioned by and premiered at Great Barrington Public Theater in the Berkshires, followed by a Punctuate4 production at Gloucester Stage in Boston, both in 2025. The play is scheduled for a reading at The Playground Theatre in London in March of 2026.

Born in Egypt to a career U.S. Foreign Service family, Anne brings a global perspective and deep historical curiosity to her work. She attended Wesleyan University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in Medieval Studies. Before turning her primary focus to playwriting, Anne built a wide-ranging theatrical career as a performer, puppeteer, narrator, and director. Her work includes developing living-history programs for museums, directing oral-history projects, narrating audiobooks, and performing in numerous productions for BBC Radio and WBUR/Boston.
